Association of Leukocyte Telomere Length and the Risk of Disease Severity and Metabolic Comorbidities in Arab Patients with Psoriasis.

Introduction: Several studies have related shortened leukocyte telomere length (LTL) with age-related diseases and worse prognosis. Telomere length attrition has recently been associated with inflammatory diseases, including psoriasis (Ps). However, no study has demonstrated an association between LTL and the risk of disease severity and metabolic comorbidities in Arab patients with Ps.

Cleft Lip Surgery in Sudan: Clinical Presentations, Early Outcomes, and Patient and Professional Satisfaction: A sub-Saharan African experience.

Background: Cleft lip and palate are the most common congenital craniofacial anomalies. They account for approximately 13% of all congenital anomalies.

Objectives: To study the presentation of cleft lip and the early results of surgical repair among patients who presented to our centers.

Reconstructive surgery for mycetoma: Preliminary algorithm and a systematic review.

Background: Surgical treatments of mycetoma are a cornerstone in management. However, while doing a wide surgical excision of mycetoma lesion, surgeons think about how to close the skin defect, which can be closed primarily, left to heal by secondary intension, by skin grafts or local flaps. In this review, we demonstrate the various applications and changes of mycetoma reconstruction after surgical excision.

Publications in Plastic Surgery and Reconstruction: A Review from a Developing Country, Sudan.

Background: Plastic and reconstructive surgery services need to be improved in developing African countries. Research and article publications from those countries are limited. This review was conducted to identify published articles from Sudan in the area of plastic and reconstructive surgery.
