Dosimetry quality control based on percent depth dose rate variation for checking beam quality in radiotherapy.

Recently, the quality management inside a radiotherapy department has been crucial to treat cancer efficiently. Thus, many international bodies recommend multiple methods to check in periodically the dosimetry quality beyond the depth of 10 cm as the beam quality index. However, they evade checking out the beam dosimetry quality on both the build-up dose and the electronic equilibrium regions.

[Echocardiography under perfusion with dobutamine. Experience of Tunisian cardiologic service. About 70 cases].

We report a prospective study which began on February 1st, 1999. 70 consecutive and non selected patients got dobutamine stress echocardiography. The major indication, in 53% of cases, was detection of coronary disease in patients suffering from chest pain but whose stress testing were not conclusive.

L-Glutamate is the major excitatory neurotransmitter in the brain. Astrocytes maintain low levels of synaptic glutamate by high-affinity uptake and defects in this function may lead to neuronal cell death by excitotoxicity. We tested the effects of HIV-1 and its envelope glycoprotein gp120 upon glutamate uptake and expression of glutamate transporters EAAT1 and EAAT2 in fetal human astrocytes in vitro.
