Suppressor of deltex () is a member of the NEDD4 family of the HECT domain E3 ubiquitin ligases. acts as a regulator of Notch endocytic trafficking, promoting Notch lysosomal degradation and the down-regulation of both ligand-dependent and ligand-independent signalling, the latter involving trafficking through the endocytic pathway and activation of the endo/lysosomal membrane. Mutations of result in developmental phenotypes in the wing that reflect increased Notch signalling, leading to gaps in the specification of the wing veins, and functions to provide the developmental robustness of Notch activity to environmental temperature shifts.

Context: Familial hypocalciuric hypercalcemia type 1 (FHH-1) defines an autosomal dominant disease, related to mutations in the CASR gene, with mild hypercalcemia in most cases. Cases of FHH-1 with a short QT interval have not been reported to date.

Objective: Three family members presented with FHH-1 and short QT interval (<360 ms), a condition that could lead to cardiac arrhythmias, and the effects of cinacalcet, an allosteric modulator of the CaSR, in rectifying the abnormal sensitivity of the mutant CaSR and in correcting the short QT interval were determined.

The recent commissioning of a movable monochromator at the 34-ID-C endstation of the Advanced Photon Source has vastly simplified the collection of Bragg coherent diffraction imaging (BCDI) data from multiple Bragg peaks of sub-micrometre scale samples. Laue patterns arising from the scattering of a polychromatic beam by arbitrarily oriented nanocrystals permit their crystal orientations to be computed, which are then used for locating and collecting several non-co-linear Bragg reflections. The volumetric six-component strain tensor is then constructed by combining the projected displacement fields that are imaged using each of the measured reflections via iterative phase retrieval algorithms.

Introduction: The prevalence of congenital heart disease (CHD) is steadily increasing among adults. Atrial arrhythmias are frequent late complications and are associated with substantial morbidity.

Areas Covered: We discuss key considerations regarding management strategies for atrial arrhythmias in common forms of CHD and offer future perspectives.

Objective: Describe how a multiyear, mixed-methods evaluation informed the evolution of a healthy eating and physical activity social marketing campaign.

Design: Focus groups, A/B survey to test messages and images, telephone interviews (2019) with local programmers, and an annual outcome survey.

Setting: Statewide through multiple channels: billboards, transit signs, social media, website, and program resources like banners and posters.
