: The ketogenic diet (KD) is widely used for weight management by reducing appetite, enhancing fat oxidation, and facilitating weight loss. However, the high content of total and saturated fats in a conventional KD may elevate low-density lipoprotein (LDL)-cholesterol levels, a known risk factor for cardiovascular diseases, highlighting the need for healthier alternatives. This study aimed to investigate the effect of a newly developed Healthy Ketogenic Diet (HKD) versus an Energy-Restricted Diet (ERD) on weight loss and metabolic outcomes among adults with obesity.

Hypothesis And Background: As the incidence of reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RTSA) continues to rise, better understanding of the long-term risks and complications is necessary to determine the best choice of implant. The majority (75%) of RTSA performed in New Zealand use either SMR (Systema Multiplana Randelli, Lima-LTO, Italy) or Delta Xtend (DePuy Synthes, USA). The aim of this registry-based study was to compare implant survival, risk of revision and reasons for revision between the two most frequently used RTSA prostheses: SMR and Delta Xtend.

Background: Hospital-based outpatient physiotherapy is the standard of care for subacute rehabilitation after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in Singapore. This study explores the clinical effectiveness of a standardized rehabilitation model at community-based rehabilitation centers to align the appropriate utilization of tertiary and community rehabilitative resources.

Methods: In this pilot study, patients who had undergone TKA were assigned to either control group (n=30) or to intervention group (n=29).

Background: Studies have reported the benefits of tranexamic acid (TXA) in controlling bleeding across various conditions. However, the effect of TXA in upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB) remains controversial, and its therapeutic impact when combined with acid suppression, particularly proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), which are considered first-line therapy for bleeding peptic ulcers, has not been reported.

Methods: We systematically searched PubMed, Embase, and Google Scholar from January 1987 to June 2024 using predefined keywords to identify RCTs meeting our inclusion criteria, including details of TXA dosage, route of administration, and choice of acid suppressants.
