Collagen-based membrane is the most commonly used biomaterial for guided bone and tissue regeneration; however, its barrier function can be threatened by its rapid degradation pattern, affecting the success of the regeneration process. Differences in the origin and functionalization of the membrane to obtain better properties can alter the degradation rate. The objective of this study was to examine the biodegradation pattern of two commercially available collagen membranes (Jason and Collprotect) manufactured using porcine pericardium or dermis, doped or not with zinc-ions or doxycycline, in a period up to 21 days.

EFs include planning, organizing, initiating, and monitoring actions, and have been found to improve with age due to the maturation of the brain, especially during childhood. Therefore, our correlational study sought to determine the relationship between the performance in executive functions and age in 79 children (36 girls, 45.

Here we report a class of allosteric inhibitors of DNA gyrase with antibacterial activity against fluoroquinolone-resistant clinical isolates of Escherichia coli. Screening of a small-molecule library revealed an initial isoquinoline sulfonamide hit, which was optimized via medicinal chemistry efforts to afford the more potent antibacterial LEI-800.

Research Question: To what extent do MTC and its variability predict the number of community-based trips during gait by older adults?
Method: 51 older adults with normal or obese body mass index walked across an 8 m walkway.
