Improving Pharmacokinetics of Peptides Using Phage Display.

Phage display is a versatile method often used in the discovery of peptides that targets disease-related biomarkers. A major advantage of this technology is the ease and cost efficiency of affinity selection, also known as biopanning, to identify novel peptides. While it is relatively straightforward to identify peptides with optimal binding affinity, the pharmacokinetics of the selected peptides often prove to be suboptimal.

Laparoscopic retroperitoneal lymphadenectomy for ovarian mixed germ cell tumor in a patient with situs inversus totalis; reporting the first case worldwide with literature review and in silico analysis.

Background: Situs inversus totalis (SIT) is a rare autosomal recessive inheritance at which the abdomino-thoracic organs are mirror-image transposed. Germ cell tumors originate from the primitive germ cell of the ovary and testis.

Case Report Presentation: A rare association between malignant ovarian mixed germ cell tumor and SIT was presented in a 32-years-old Egyptian female, successfully treated with laparoscopic total abdominal hysterectomy, right salpingo-oophorectomy, and retroperitoneal lymphadenectomy (laparoscopic retroperitoneal lymphadenectomy) of both sides.

Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on knowledge, perceptions, and effects of telemedicine among the general population of Pakistan: A national survey.

Background: Telemedicine is the provision of healthcare services through information and communication technology with the potential to mobilize all facets of the health sector to prevent the spread of COVID-19, provide quality healthcare, protect patients, doctors, and the public from exposure to disease, and reduce the burden on the healthcare system. This study aims to identify knowledge, perceptions, willingness to use, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on telemedicine awareness.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted from 27 May 2020 to 17 June 2020 using the convenient sampling technique in the general population of Pakistan.

Association Between Total Bilirubin Levels and Cardio-Metabolic Risk Factors Related to Obesity.

Background: The link between bilirubin and cardiometabolic outcomes has been previously identified with positive health effects of mild hyperbilirubinaemia. On the other hand, recent evidence has suggested an association between low circulating bilirubin levels and obesity. This study was conducted to assess the association of total bilirubin levels with metabolic and cardiovascular risk factors related to obesity.
