A needle holder is one of the crucial surgical instruments for surgeons. Its prime function is to steadily hold the needle while applying sutures, thus avoiding injury to the surrounding tissues and to the surgeon's hand. Wide varieties of needle holders are available for use in orthopaedic practice.

Sprengel's deformity correction by vertical scapular osteotomy in a paediatric age group: influence of rib cage abnormalities.

Introduction: Vertical scapular osteotomy (VSO) is a known procedure for Sprengel's shoulder deformity. Its surgical results in the presence of rib cage anomalies largely remain unreported.

Material And Methods: The influence of simple and complex rib anomalies on shoulder abduction, Cavendish grade, and radiological Rigault's score following VSO was studied retrospectively in eight paediatric patients.

Role of percutaneous cerclage wire in the management of subtrochanteric fractures treated with intramedullary nails.

Purpose: Cerclage wire application has emerged as a potential therapeutic adjunct to intramedullary nailing for subtrochanteric fractures. But its popularity is plagued by the concern of possible negative effect on fracture zone biology. This study was intended to analyze the clinico-radiological outcome and complications associated with cerclage wire application.

Proximal humerus fracture dislocation leading to axillary artery injury in an young adult: Case report of an unusual presentation.

Proximal humerus fractures constitute five percent of all fracture cases. Though rare, severely comminuted proximal humerus fractures can cause injury to neurovascular structure. Majority of these injuries reported in literature were in elderly age group from low velocity injury owing to loss of elasticity of vessel wall.

Patellar inversion: 180 degree rotation of the patella around its vertical axis within the intercondylar notch.

Background: Dislocation of the patella can occur around its vertical as well as horizontal axis. However, near 180 degree rotation of the patella around its vertical axis within the intercondylar notch without its complete dislocation has never been previously reported to the best of our knowledge. We report one such neglected case along with its management.
