Skin cancer is one of the most common types of cancer worldwide, with exposure to UVB radiation being a significant risk factor for its development. To prevent skin cancer, continuous research efforts have focused on finding suitable photoprotective ingredients from natural sources that are also environmentally friendly. This study aimed to develop oil-in-water photoprotective nanoemulsions containing marine macroalgae extract.

Vascular Access for Home Hemodialysis: A Perspective on Tunneled Central Venous Catheters at Home.

Expansion of home hemodialysis (HHD) provides an opportunity to improve clinical outcomes, reduce cost of care, and address the staffing challenges currently faced in caring for patients with kidney failure on replacement therapy. To increase HHD expansion, current practices and barriers to home dialysis must be examined and addressed. One such barrier is vascular access for HHD; although tunneled hemodialysis central venous catheters (CVCs) have been used for decades, physicians still hesitate to send patients home without a mature, functional arteriovenous access.

Adaptor protein complex-3 (AP-3) mediates cargo sorting from endosomes to lysosomes and lysosome-related organelles. Recently, it was shown that AP-3 adopts a constitutively open conformation compared to the related AP-1 and AP-2 coat complexes, which are inactive until undergoing large conformational changes upon membrane recruitment. How AP-3 is regulated is therefore an open question.

Background: The clinical protocol and effectiveness of dental expansion with Clear Aligner Therapy (CAT), especially among adults is still unclear. There is a need to map and explore knowledge gaps of dental expansion with CAT among children and adults.

Objective: This scoping review explores the extent and depth of the available literature regarding the effectiveness and predictability of CAT in performing orthodontic expansion in both children and adults.
