Virginal gigantomastia (VGM) is a benign disease of the breasts without a clearly established etiology. The treatment of VGM remains a problem. The conservative treatment is not effective while surgery is too traumatic.

Systemic chemotherapeutic treatment of patients with breast cancer brain metastases.

Brain metastases of solid tumors are the most common intracranial neoplasms in adults. We provide a short overview of the role of the blood-brain barrier ​​in the pathogenesis of breast cancer brain metastases, and the effectiveness of systemic anticancer therapy in the treatment of such patients.

СD44+/CD24- markers of cancer stem cells in patients with breast cancer of different molecular subtypes.

Aim: To determine frequency of tumors with immunohistochemical markers of cancer stem cells (CSC) CD44+/CD24- in patients with breast cancer (BC) of different molecular subtype and to evaluate their prognostic value.

Object: Surgical material of 132 patients with BC stage I-II, age from 23 to 75 years, mean age - 50.2 ± 3.

[Surgical treatment of breast neoplasms in early stages].

Analysis of literary data and own investigation results for the modern surgical methods of treatment of mammary gland cancer in early stages was performed. Indexes of patients survival after surgical removal of mammary gland (MG) and quadranthectomy did not differ. Preservation of MG constitutes great social and psycho-emotional significance for women-patients.
