The in-vessel silicon diode arrays that are used for soft x-ray detection in many tokamaks are sensitive to neutron damage, making them unsuitable for burning plasma devices such as SPARC. In such a device, the silicon diodes would need to be placed far from the plasma-limiting their field of view-or an alternative detector could be used. Here, we present the design of a camera containing an array of chemical vapor deposition single-crystal diamonds, which will be placed in the upper and lower port plugs of the SPARC tokamak with a large enough view of the poloidal cross section to enable tomographic inversion.

At present, magnetic confinement fusion devices rely solely on absolute neutron counting as a direct way of measuring fusion power. Absolute counting of deuterium-tritium gamma rays could provide the secondary neutron-independent technique required for the validation of scientific results and as a licensing tool for future power plants. However, this approach necessitates an accurate determination of the gamma-ray-to-neutron branching ratio.

Coastal lagoons are important but sensitive environments, being transitional zones between land and sea. The Khnifiss lagoon is the most important desert wetland in Morocco, but little data have been produced concerning heavy metal geochemistry and enrichments in the sediments. Therefore, 26 surface sediments (15 intertidal and 11 subtidal) and 2 sediment cores were collected in 2016 and analyzed for a selection of heavy metals.

Objectives: General practitioners face many barriers to deprescribing psychotropic medications in people with dementia in nursing homes, including a lack of knowledge about their medication histories. This study explored the knowledge of family members about residents' medications and their willingness to support deprescribing.

Methods: Sixty-six family members of residents from seven residential aged care facilities participated in this cross-sectional study.

To test the applicability of self-powered detectors (SPDs) for radiation monitoring in fusion reactor blankets, several irradiation tests have been undertaken with the ad hoc designed Cr-SPD, which presents the novelty of using chromium as the emitter material. This detector was exposed to an intense Co gamma-ray source, and to the 14 MeV neutrons produced by the D-T fusion reaction. Detailed analyses of the measured signals have been done here using a Monte Carlo modeling technique.
