Research Design And Methods: We run an observational study of HRQoL in 140 CVID patients with biannual assessments over 8  years using a disease-specific tool, the CVID_QoL, and the GHQ questionnaires. Films of biodegradable blends of polycaprolactone (PCL) and Pluronics F68 and F127 were manufactured by an industrial thermo-mechanical process to be applied as potential delivery systems. The effects of Pluronics on the structure (mesophase organization), and thermal and mechanical properties of polycaprolactone were investigated using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), polarized optical microscopy (POM) and tensile mechanical tests. The addition of Pluronics affected the crystallization process by changing the relative amounts of crystalline, amorphous, and meso- (condis + plastic) phases.

Spherocytosis is a hereditary disease caused by the deficiencies of different membrane proteins of red blood cells. Currently, splenectomy is the main therapeutic strategy available, although it is accompanied by an increased risk of sepsis. Several evidences have supported the hypothesis of spleen dysfunction in patients with spherocytosis that haven't yet undergone splenectomy.

Background: The objective of this study is to test how certain signs and symptoms related to COVID-19 in children predict the positivity or negativity of the SARS-CoV-2 nasopharyngeal swab in children.

Methods: We review the data of children who were tested for SARS-CoV-2 for a suspected infection. We compared the clinical characteristics of the subjects who tested positive and negative, including the sensibility, positive and negative predictive value of different combination of signs and symptoms.

Hypothesis: The structure, rheology and other physicochemical properties of dilute aqueous dispersions of sodium oleate (NaOL) are well known. This paper is the first report in which a moderately concentrated (13% w/w) dispersion of NaOL in water is investigated. In fact, at this concentration the phase and rheology behavior of the surfactant remarkably deviates from those of its dilute solutions in water and a significant effect is imparted by the addition of potassium chloride.
