Late onset cerebellar ataxia syndrome after non-paraneoplastic Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome: a case study.

This is an unusual case of voltage gated calcium channel (VGCC) antibodies leading to two distinct and chronologically separated neurologic syndromes without the presence of an underlying neoplasm. Lambert Eaton Myasthenic Syndrome (LEMS) presented five years prior to cerebellar ataxia. Both LEMS and cerebellar ataxia were responsive to treatment, but not the same therapy.

Long-Term Follow-Up and Overall Survival in NRG258, a Randomized Phase III Trial of Chemoradiation Versus Chemotherapy for Locally Advanced Endometrial Carcinoma.

This randomized phase III trial aimed to determine whether treatment with cisplatin and volume-directed radiation followed by carboplatin and paclitaxel for four cycles (chemoradiotherapy [C-RT]) increased recurrence-free survival (RFS) and overall survival (OS) when compared with carboplatin and paclitaxel for six cycles (chemotherapy [CT]) in locally advanced endometrial cancer (UC). Previously reported results showed that C-RT did not improve RFS compared with CT. Here we report the final OS analysis.

Introduction With the COVID-19 pandemic, multiple studies described a significant drop in common respiratory viruses in children with the lockdown and restrictions. With the lifting of pandemic precautions, we had the ability to observe new patterns of respiratory illnesses in children and emergency department visits. Materials and methods We studied all respiratory nucleic acid amplification test results in emergency patients from a large metropolitan children's hospital from the years 2018 to 2023.

A Review of Current and Future Antibody Drug Conjugates in Breast Cancer.

Antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) are a novel class of anti-cancer agents that have changed the standard of care for patients with breast cancer. Their targeted approach delivers potent anti-cancer drugs to cancer cells bearing specific surface antigens, thereby maximizing anti-cancer effects and minimizing systemic toxicity. Currently, there are three ADCs available for use in breast cancer: trastuzumab emtansine for HER2 positive breast cancer (early stage and metastatic), trastuzumab deruxtecan for HER2 positive and HER2 low breast cancer (metastatic) and sacituzumab govitecan for triple negative and hormone receptor positive (HR +), HER2 negative breast cancer(metastatic).

Custom Cesium-131 Vicryl Mesh Brachytherapy for Recurrent Anal Cancer: A Report of Two Cases.

While the standard of care for anal cancer consists of concurrent chemoradiation, patients with advanced T stages often succumb to local failures. Salvage treatment consists of an abdominoperineal resection (APR). While this is a good surgery to treat the local recurrence, there may be a risk of obtaining a positive margin due to the advanced nature and location of the recurrence.
