A Mild Presentation of X-Linked Hypophosphatemia Caused by a Non-Canonical Splice Site Variant in the Gene.

X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH) is a rare inherited disorder of renal phosphate wasting with a highly variable phenotype caused by loss-of-function variants in the gene. The diagnosis of individuals with mild phenotypes can be challenging and often delayed. Here, we describe a three-generation family with a very mild clinical presentation of XLH.

Use of Darvadstrocel (Allogenic Stem Cell Therapy) for Crohn's Fistulas in Real Clinical Practice: The National Project to Implement Mesenchymal Stem Cell for the Treatment of Perianal Crohn's Fistula (the PRIME Study).

Background: Perianal fistulas may affect 15% to 50% of patients with Crohn's disease. Treatment is complex, requiring a multidisciplinary approach. Darvadstrocel (allogenic mesenchymal cells obtained from lipoaspirates) was approved in 2018 by the European and Spanish Agencies of Medicines and Medical Products as a treatment for fistulas in Crohn's disease.

Embryos can be cultured individually, one embryo per media drop, or in groups, culturing several embryos in the same media drop. Due to the controversy generated on this subject, we wondered which embryo culture method would have the best results in terms of quality and blastocyst formation rate.

Urine collection methods in precontinent children treated at the paediatric emergency department.

Aim: To describe the urine collection methods used in precontinent children presenting at the Paediatric Emergency Department (PED) and compare results and contamination rates.

Methods: Retrospective observational cohort study that included 1678 urine cultures collected in infants <24 months of age between January 2016 and December 2019. Urine cultures were compared based on collection technique, sex and patient age.
