Recurrent paratesticular liposarcoma: a case report.

Introduction And Importance: Paratesticular liposarcoma (PTL) is a rare condition, with fewer than 200 cases reported worldwide. It is a malignant tumor that originates from fat tissue with high risk of recurrence. Herein, the authors present a contralateral recurrence of a treated PTL.

Hydrogeochemical characterization and suitability of groundwater for drinking and irrigation in Menzel Bourguiba aquifers (Northeastern Tunisia).

The aquifer system of Menzel Bourguiba, located in northeastern Tunisia, is an important groundwater resource that, for the last decades, has been a subject of excessive use by agricultural and industrial activities leading to the degradation of its water quality. To better understand the hydrochemistry of these aquifers, identify the main factors controlling their mineralization, and assess their suitability for drinking and agricultural purposes, 35 groundwater samples collected during the campaign of October 2019 were analyzed by different physicochemical methods. The results showed that the hydrochemical facies of the study area is characterized by two major types SO4-Cl-Ca and Na-Cl.

Binacox: automatic cut-point detection in high-dimensional Cox model with applications in genetics.

We introduce binacox, a prognostic method to deal with the problem of detecting multiple cut-points per feature in a multivariate setting where a large number of continuous features are available. The method is based on the Cox model and combines one-hot encoding with the binarsity penalty, which uses total-variation regularization together with an extra linear constraint, and enables feature selection. Original nonasymptotic oracle inequalities for prediction (in terms of Kullback-Leibler divergence) and estimation with a fast rate of convergence are established.

Bibliometrics of Tunisian publications in preventive and community medicine, indexed in the Medline database (1975-2014).

Introduction: With the aim of rebuilding the memory of the specialty of Preventive Medicine and Community Medicine (MPC) in Tunisia, through its indexed scientific publications, the objective of this work was to describe the thematic and methodological profile of indexed scientific research, of this specialty over four decades.

Methods: This is a descriptive bibliometric study of MPC articles, indexed in the Medline database over a 40-year period (1975-2014), and based on their Medline Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). All articles of which the first and / or last authors were MPC university hospital teachers, in one of Tunisia's four faculties of medicine, were included.
