Healthcare professionals face ethical challenges in managing care for neurodevelopmental disorders: a qualitative study in Lebanon.

Objectives: This study aimed to explore the ethical challenges faced by healthcare professionals (HCPs) in managing children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs) in Lebanon. The primary research question addressed how HCPs navigate ethical dilemmas related to patient autonomy, surrogate decision-making and communication in the context of severe cognitive impairments.

Design: Qualitative, cross-sectional study using semi-structured interviews.

The effect of inverting decades and units on the retention of two-digit numbers in working memory: a matter of the output mode.

Number-word structure affects transcoding and relates to working memory capacity (WMc). We tested the relationship between the structure of number-words (inverted "Units-Decades (UD) format" or not "Decades-Units (DU) format") and performance on the digit span task for recalling two-digit number-words presented verbally, using two modes of output. University students, native speakers of Arabic, who were also highly proficient in Hebrew, and native speakers of Hebrew, were asked to response by typing Arabic digits or recalling numbers verbally.

Opportunities for carbon sequestration from removing or intensifying pasture-based beef production.

Pastures, on which ruminant livestock graze, occupy one third of the earth's surface. Removing livestock from pastures can support climate change mitigation through carbon sequestration in regrowing vegetation and recovering soils, particularly in potentially forested areas. However, this would also decrease food and fiber production, generating a tradeoff with pasture productivity and the ruminant meat production pastures support.

Feeding global aquaculture.

The growth of animal aquaculture requires ever more feed. Yet, fish and crustacean farming is argued to be sustainable because wild fish use is low and has improved over time. Here, accounting for trimmings and by-products from wild fish in aquaculture feed, and using four different sources of industry-reported feed composition data, we find ratios of fish inputs to farmed outputs of 0.

PD-1/PD-L1 Inhibitors in Combination With Chemo or as Monotherapy vs. Chemotherapy Alone in Advanced, Unresectable HER2-Negative Gastric, Gastroesophageal Junction, and Esophageal Adenocarcinoma: A Meta-Analysis.

Aims: Advanced gastroesophageal cancers are still associated with poor outcomes. We aim to study PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors in phase III clinical trials that have compared them to chemotherapy in gastric, gastroesophageal junction (GEJ), and esophageal adenocarcinoma.
