Susceptibility Patterns in Clinical Isolates of Complex from a Hospital in Southern Spain.

The incidence of infections caused by the complex (MAC) has risen significantly, posing diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. This study analyzed 134 clinical isolates of the complex from southern Spain, performing in vitro antimicrobial susceptibility testing using a commercial microdilution technique to generate additional data, refine treatment strategies, and improve patient outcomes. Phenotypic susceptibility testing revealed clarithromycin and amikacin as the most effective antibiotics, with susceptibility rates exceeding 90%, while linezolid and moxifloxacin exhibited limited activity, with resistance rates of 49.

Not everyone is able to adapt to the new eating style and may develop maladaptive behaviors. The objective was to evaluate the factors of adherence to the gluten-free diet in people with celiac disease in Paraguay in 2023.

Salmonella is a zoonotic pathogen transmitted through food and one of the four leading global causes of diarrheal disease in humans. Brazil is the world's largest exporter of poultry meat, and as such, Brazilian farms routinely detect and prevent Salmonella. The last official monitoring and control in poultry slaughter establishments in Brazil in 2023 detected Salmonella spp.

Discovering spider fly (Diptera: Acroceridae) hosts and their biology using citizen science.

Acroceridae are active parasitoids of mygalomorph spiders. However, little is known of their interaction numbers and biology in the Neotropics. In this study, we present 15 new records of acrocerid-mygalomorph interactions, adding new biological information about spider fly development.
