Background: Cholangiocarcinoma, a malignancy originating from the bile ducts, poses significant treatment challenges due to its typically late diagnosis and limited therapeutic options. However, recent advances in molecular genetics enable more personalized treatment approaches. A notable breakthrough in this context is the identification of isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) mutations, particularly and , which occur in a subset of cholangiocarcinoma patients.

Synthetic polymers and modified natural polymers are subject to EC 2023/2055, whereas biopolymers can be considered as important unregulated substituents. However, as regulatory requirements for biopolymers and a regulatory accepted hazard evaluation concept for polymers in general is missing, potential ecotoxicological effects are unknown. Biopolymers are often categorized as environmentally uncritical due to their origin, even though supporting data are missing.

Chronic pain is common among people living with HIV (PLWH) who engage in heavy drinking and both pain and heavy drinking influence quality of life, functioning, and HIV-outcomes. The purpose of this study was to: (1) test the acceptability and feasibility of a cognitive behavioral telehealth intervention (INTV) to reduce pain and heavy drinking among PLWH, (2) evaluate methods to implement a randomized controlled efficacy trial, and (3) provide preliminary information about its potential value. Forty-eight PLWH with chronic pain who engaged in heavy drinking were recruited from HIV-health clinics and social media.

Internal translation initiation sites, as revealed by ribosome profiling experiments can potentially drive the translation of many N-terminally truncated proteoforms. We report that internal short open reading frame (sORF) within coding sequences regulate their translation. nTRIP6 represents a short nuclear proteoform of the cytoplasmic protein TRIP6.

Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a prevalent arrhythmia with significant public health implications, including increased risk of stroke and mortality. Early detection is challenging but crucial for managing complications. Wearable technology with photoplethysmography (PPG) offers a potential solution for long-term, non-invasive monitoring.
