Double-inlet left ventricle (DILV) is a rare congenital cardiac abnormality that is a subtype of univentricular congenital disease. This defect has been reported in people and large animals but has not been previously described in a small animal. Here, we report a one-year-old cat diagnosed with DILV accompanied by a hypoplastic right ventricle and ventricular septal defect.

The Test of Rapamycin In Aging Dogs (TRIAD) randomized clinical trial is a parallel-group, double-masked, randomized, placebo-controlled, multicenter trial that will test the ability of rapamycin to prolong lifespan and improve several healthspan metrics in healthy, middle-aged dogs recruited from Dog Aging Project participants.

Animals: One hundred and sixteen client-owned cats with kidney function testing performed at least twice during acute or chronic CHF treatment.
Diagnostic ultrasound is an important imaging modality in veterinary medicine. Surveys of veterinarians suggest that ultrasound is a desired clinical competence and that new graduates are expected to practice basic ultrasound skills. This report describes the development and implementation of a basic ultrasound training program in the core curriculum at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine (ISU-CVM).

We hypothesized that implementing an explicit 7-week CR curriculum taught in a large-enrollment elective veterinary cardiology course would improve students' awareness of clinical reasoning principles, self-efficacy of CR skills, and application of CR principles in clinical case analyses. A secondary aim was to assess the impact of peer review as a means of providing feedback in a large classroom setting.
