Purpose: Neoadjuvant radiochemotherapy (NARCT) is an established standard of care in various tumor entities, promoting high response rates at commonly lower toxicities as compared to adjuvant approaches. This retrospective analysis was designed to investigate NARCT in early-stage high-risk cervical cancer.

Methods: Forty patients with early-stage high-risk cervical cancer (i.

: Hemophilia A is associated with frequent bleeding episodes, joint damage, and reduced bone mineral density (BMD). The role of coagulation factors and inflammatory cytokines on bone metabolism, particularly on osteoblast function, is of increasing interest. However, significant inter-species differences in bone remodeling raise concerns about the translatability of findings from murine models to human systems.

Background: High dietary sodium intake is a major cardiovascular risk factor and adversely affects blood pressure control. Patients with primary aldosteronism (PA) are at increased cardiovascular risk, even after medical treatment, and high dietary sodium intake is common in these patients. Here, we analyze the impact of a moderate dietary sodium restriction on microbiome composition and immunophenotype in patients with PA.

Introduction: The exact mechanisms of bone remodelling after scaphoid fractures are not fully understood. Blood supply may lead to delayed consolidation and non-unions as challenging long-term problems. The aim of this study was to follow-up the microstructure during the scaphoid bone remodelling process using High Resolution peripheral Quantitative Computed Tomography (HR-pQCT) and compare the results with clinical and laboratory data.

The post-mortem interval estimation for human skeletal remains is critical in forensic medicine. This study used Raman spectroscopy, specifically comparing a handheld device to a Raman microscope for PMI estimations. Analyzing 99 autopsy bone samples and 5 archeological samples, the research categorized them into five PMI classes using conventional methods.
