Focal reactive nodular gliosis: an extremely rare retinal astrocytic tumor.

Focal reactive nodular gliosis (FRNG) is an extremely rare benign retinal reactive astrocytic tumor that results from the proliferation of well-differentiated glial cells secondary to a variety of retinal conditions. We describe a case of this tumor in a 64-year-old male in association with a chorioretinal scar he has had since childhood. The symptom was sudden painful vision loss.

Clinic-pathological agreement in the diagnosis of conjunctival tumours: Analysis of 195 cases.

Purpose: The present study aims to assess the agreement between clinical and pathological diagnosis in conjunctival tumours in a specialist ocular oncology unit.

Methods: retrospective study of consecutive patients with conjunctival tumours diagnosed at the Ocular Oncology Unit of the University Hospital of Valladolid was performed from 1992 to 2017. Tumours were classified according to their origin (epithelial, melanocytic, lymphoid and others) and degree of malignancy (benign, premalignant, malignant).

Brachytherapy in the prevention of recurrence of conjunctival melanoma : Results of a case report in a University Hospital in Valladolid, Spain.

Aim: Describe the results of brachytherapy in the prevention of recurrences in conjunctival melanoma (CM) and describe a dosimetric protocol.

Methods: Retrospective and descriptive case report. Eleven consecutive patients with a confirmed histopathological diagnosis of CM treated with brachytherapy between 1992 and 2023 were reviewed.

Material And Methods: An observational retrospective study of patients with uveal melanoma in the National Reference Unit for Adult Intraocular Tumors of the Hospital Clínico Universitario de Valladolid (Spain) was performed, analyzing the pre- and post-COVID-19 periods: from March 15, 2019 to March 15, 2020 and from March 16, 2020 to March 16, 2021. Demographic data, diagnostic delay, tumor size, extraocular extension, treatment and evolution were collected.
