Investigating Dietitians' Knowledge and Comfort in Supporting Muslim Clients and Communities Who Fast During Ramadan.

The purpose of this preliminary study was to explore Saskatchewan Registered Dietitians' perceived knowledge, comfort, and access to resources in supporting Muslims who choose to fast during Ramadan. An online anonymous survey was distributed to Saskatchewan dietitians from January 31 to February 22, 2022. Quantitative data analysis was employed using Microsoft Excel.

Progress in Noninvasive Surveillance for Acute Rejection in Pediatric Heart Transplant Recipients: A Real-World Analysis of Donor-Derived Cell-Free DNA-Based Surveillance Protocol.

Purpose: Acute cellular (ACR) and antibody-mediated (AMR) rejection are risk factors for allograft loss in heart transplant (HT) recipients. Endomyocardial biopsy (EMB), although considered the gold standard for rejection surveillance, is invasive and has high interobserver variability. Noninvasive donor-derived cell-free DNA (dd-cfDNA) sampling has a high negative predictive value (NPV) for rejection in adults and is increasingly used in pediatrics.

Purpose Of Review: This article highlights the most recent advances in a review of the current literature in the field of pediatric heart failure and transplantation.

Recent Findings: Diagnostically, the identification of new genetic factors has contributed to a deeper understanding of cardiomyopathy in children. Novel medications like sacubitril/valsartan and Sodium-Glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors, which are now standard in the adult population are being studied in pediatric population and offer new promise of pediatric heart failure treatment.

Horticulture as a profession for middle-class German and Austrian women, 1890-1940.

Women seeking to work in horticulture in the early twentieth century were the beneficiaries of developments put in motion by the late nineteenth-century women's rights movement. From the 1860s, feminists and social reformers in Europe and America promoted the opening of higher education to women. After success on this front, by 1900, women's advocates pushed for expanding work opportunities suitable for middle-class women, including in horticulture.
