Purine stretches, sequences of adenine (A) and guanine (G) in DNA, play critical roles in binding regulatory protein factors and influence gene expression by affecting DNA folding. This study investigates the relationship between purine stretches and cancer development, considering the aromaticity of purines, quantified by methods like Hückel's rule and NICS calculations, and the importance of the flanking sequence context. A pronounced avoidance of long purine stretches by typical cancer mutations was observed in public data on the intergenic regions of cancer patients, suggesting a role of intergenic sequences in chromatin reorganization and gene regulation.

There has been tremendous progress in the degree of realism of three-dimensional radiation magneto-hydrodynamic simulations of the solar atmosphere in the past decades. Four of the most frequently used numerical codes are Bifrost, CO5BOLD, MANCHA3D and MURaM. Here we test and compare the wave propagation characteristics in model runs from these four codes by measuring the dispersion relation of acoustic-gravity waves at various heights.

To examine this question, ten sedentary T1D individuals completed four treadmill exercise sessions: a control session of 45 minutes of walking at 45-55% of heart rate reserve (HRR) and three sessions consisting of 60 seconds (VII) at 70%, 80%, or 90% of HRR every 4 minutes during exercise at 45-55% of HRR. We used continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) to measure time ≤3.

After weaning, some of the rats had five sessions per week of a 30-min treadmill walking (CE and SE), while the others remained sedentary (CS and SS) until the age of 120 days. Exercise caused a reduction of body weight (CS/CE = 1.
