Classification of sugarcane genotypes susceptible and resistant to the initial attack of sugarcane borer Diatraea saccharalis using epicuticular wax composition.

Identifying compounds present in the sugarcane epicuticular wax and using these compounds to classify the genotypes susceptible and resistant to the initial attack of sugarcane borer (Diatraea saccharalis) was the aim of this study. A greenhouse experiment was performed in a factorial scheme with and without borer infestation using genotypes previously characterized as resistant or susceptible in field-based experiments. Sugarcane whorls of six-month-old plants were collected before (BI) and after (AI) 72 h of sugarcane borer infestation.

What Basophil Testing Tells Us About CSU Patients - Results of the CORSA Study.

Basophil testing is the most effective single approach for diagnosing type-IIb autoimmune chronic spontaneous urticaria (TIIbaiCSU). A positive basophil test has been linked to long disease duration, higher disease activity, a poor response to antihistamines and omalizumab, and a better response to cyclosporine and fenebrutinib. As of now it is unclear what other features are connected to a positive basophil test in chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU).

Analysis of adrenaline autoinjectors acquisition in Portugal over 15 years.

The adrenaline autoinjector (AAi) is universally recommended as the first-line treatment for anaphylactic reactions occurring outside the medical setting. The quantification of its acquisition may help estimate the prevalence of patients at risk of anaphylaxis with an indication for AAi. Evaluation of the global and regional frequency of AAi purchases in Mainland Portugal between 2003-2017 and calculate the inherent costs in 2017.

Clinical experience of a specialized urticaria outpatient clinic from a Portuguese UCARE.
