GeSn compounds have made many interesting contributions in photodetectors (PDs) over the last ten years, as they have a detection limit in the NIR and mid-IR region. Sn incorporation in Ge alters the cut off wavelength. In the present article, p-i-n structures based on GeSn junctions were fabricated to serve as PDs.

Topologically protected magnon surface states are highly desirable as an ideal platform to engineer low-dissipation spintronics devices. However, theoretical prediction of topological magnons in strongly correlated materials proves to be challenging because the ab initio density functional theory calculations fail to reliably predict magnetic interactions in correlated materials. Here, we present a symmetry-based approach, which predicts topological magnons in magnetically ordered crystals, upon applying external perturbations such as magnetic/electric fields and/or mechanical strains.

Heterostructures based on the GeSn nanocompound have high impact on integrated photonics devices. The promising feature of GeSn nanostructures is its direct bandgap transition that is a result of Sn incorporation in the Ge networks, forming a strained structure. Herein, we demonstrate a deep survey of the strain-controlling mechanisms in GeSn nanomaterials with different methodologies.

Chemical investigation of the aerial parts of ethanol extract (AEEE) showed high concentrations of polyphenol and flavonoid content, with notable antioxidant activity. Undescribed acylated diglucoside flavonol myricetin 3----(6″--galloyl glucopyranoside) 7----glucopyranoside (MGGG) was isolated from the aerial parts of AEEE, along with four known polyphenols that had not been characterized previously from AEEE. The inhibitory effects of MGGG, AEEE, and all compounds against -amylase, pancreatic lipase and -glucosidase were assessed.
