The control of mosquito breeding is an essential step towards the reduction of vector-borne disease outbreaks. Synthetic larvicidal agents produce resistance in vectors and cause safety concerns in humans, animals and aquatic species. The drawback of synthetic larvicides opened a new avenue for natural larvicidal agents, but poor dosage accuracy, need for frequent applications, low stability and sustainability are the major challenges with them.

Nutritional assessment in hospitalized elderly patients, its sociodemographic determinants and co-relation with activities of daily life.

Introduction: Present study was planned to identify various sociodemographic factors influencing nutritional status in elderly and impact of nutritional status on activities of daily living in them.

Methods: Total of 177 patients were enrolled in a prospective observational study. Nutritional status was assessed at the time of discharge by using Mini Nutritional Assessment form (MNA).

Not all movements require the motor cortex for execution. Intriguingly, dependence on motor cortex of a given movement is not fixed, but instead can dynamically change over the course of long-term learning. For instance, rodent forelimb movements that initially require motor cortex can become independent of the motor cortex after an extended period of training.

Background: Tripe palms (TP) is one of the rare cutaneous paraneoplastic manifestations of various intra-abdominal malignancies. TP and malignant acanthosis nigricans (MAN) occur together and may precede even years before the index cancer. Though rare, the clinical significance of TP and MAN holds significance as an indicator of internal malignancy.
