A 21-year-old man, known case of the repaired congenital heart disease, developed complete atrioventricular block (AVB) one week after simultaneous bioprosthetic pulmonary and tricuspid valve replacement and atrial septal defect repair. Considering the persistence of the AVB, it was decided to implant a permanent pacemaker. After considering all available options and the issues related to the patient, it was decided to implant a leadless pacemaker (LLP).

Today, curcumin's therapeutic properties are used in drug delivery systems. In this work, chitosan (CS) /Montmorillonite (MMT) hydrogels were synthesized to improve the performance of curcumin molecules. According to the results, drug release characteristics of CS/MMT/curcumin highly depend on the pH of the environment and properties of Ag nanoparticles.

Municipal solid waste (MSW) landfills significantly contribute to global methane gas production, underscoring the critical need for accurate emission gas estimation within an effective gas management strategy. While first-order models such as LandGEM are essential for estimating gas emissions, their lack of accuracy has spurred numerous studies to enhance core parameters, specifically methane generation rate constant (k) and potential methane generation capacity (L). In this study, various machine learning models were used to generate modified LandGEM model parameters to reduce the error of methane gas estimations by the model.

Background: Obesity, characterized by excessive adipose tissue, is associated with chronic low-grade inflammation and elevated inflammatory markers such as high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP). This inflammation is linked to obesity-associated medical problems, including cardiovascular diseases. One anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB) has emerged as an effective metabolic and bariatric surgical procedure to address severe obesity and its associated inflammatory state.
