Purpose: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to compare the clinical and radiological outcomes of patients undergoing revision total knee arthroplasty (rTKA) using uncemented press-fit stems (hybrid fixation) versus cemented stems (cemented fixation). It is also examined whether cemented fixation offers any superiority over hybrid fixation regarding implant survival, clinical function, imaging analysis and complication rates.

Methods: Following the PRISMA guidelines, a systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted on five databases (Pubmed, Scopus, Embase, Medline and Cochrane).

This article aims to present a comprehensive technical note detailing our preferred treatment approach for tibial tuberosity avulsion fractures in the adult and elderly populations, particularly in scenarios characterized by low tissue quality and limited bone stock. Existing literature on this fracture type is scarce, with many described techniques relying on optimal bone quality for effective screw fixation of the tibial tuberosity. Various methods for tibial tuberosity avulsion fixation include K-wires, cannulated screws, staples, tension bands, suture anchors, and in select cases, direct transosseous sutures.

In 2020, Ecuador was among the most affected places in the world in the context of the COVID-19 emergency. Serious problems of structural inequality and governance resulted in corpses lying in the streets of Guayaquil-Ecuador's largest city-while local communities resisted in different ways. We interviewed 18 participants who engaged in actions of solidarity during this context, critically analyzed their discourses, and generated relevant themes.

Heterochromatin plays a critical role in regulating gene expression and maintaining genome integrity. While structural and enzymatic components have been linked to heterochromatin establishment, a comprehensive view of the underlying pathways at diverse heterochromatin domains remains elusive. Here, we developed a systematic approach to identify factors involved in heterochromatin silencing at pericentromeres, subtelomeres and the silent mating type locus in Schizosaccharomyces pombe.

This technical note aims to provide a detailed description of our arthroscopic technique for suture fixation of posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) tibial avulsion fractures. Various surgical approaches have been described, including both open and arthroscopic techniques. The arthroscopic approach can be less disruptive and more accurate in visualizing anatomic landmarks.
