Drug-Drug Interaction Management with the Novel Anti-Cytomegalovirus Agents Letermovir and Maribavir: Guidance for Clinicians.

Letermovir and maribavir have demonstrated efficacy in the prevention and treatment, respectively, of immunosuppressed patients with cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection and disease. These patients often have polypharmacy making them at risk for drug-drug interactions. Both letermovir and maribavir can be perpetrators and victims of drug-drug interactions.

The differential impact of early graft dysfunction in kidney donation after brain death and after circulatory death: Insights from the Dutch National Transplant Registry.

Kidneys donated after circulatory death (DCD) perform similarly to kidneys donated after brain death (DBD). However, the respective incidences of delayed graft function (DGF) differ. This questions the donor type-specific impact of early graft function on long-term outcomes.

Trained immunity suppression determines kidney allograft survival.

The innate immune system plays an essential role in regulating the immune responses to kidney transplantation, but the mechanisms through which innate immune cells influence long-term graft survival are unclear. The current study highlights the vital role of trained immunity in kidney allograft survival. Trained immunity describes the epigenetic and metabolic changes that innate immune cells undergo following an initial stimulus, allowing them have a stronger inflammatory response to subsequent stimuli.

Distinct neurocognitive pathways underlying creativity: An integrative approach.

By examining the shared neuro-cognitive correlates of curiosity and creativity, we better understand the brain basis of creativity. However, by only examining shared components, important neuro-cognitive correlates are overlooked. Here, we argue that any comprehensive brain model of creativity should consider multiple cognitive processes and, alongside the interplay between brain networks, also the neurochemistry and neural oscillations that underly creativity.

Continuing the conversation: a cross-sectional study about the effects of work-related adverse events on the mental health of Dutch (resident) obstetrician-gynaecologists (ObGyns).

Background: Obstetrician-Gynaecologists (ObGyns) frequently face work-related adverse events such as severe obstetric complications and maternal or neonatal deaths. In 2014, the WATER-1 study showed that ObGyns are at risk of developing work-related posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), while many hospitals lacked a professional support system. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the current prevalence of work-related traumatic events and mental health problems among Dutch ObGyns, as well as to examine the current and desired support.
