: Multicomponent, non-pharmacological therapies are the preferred first-line treatments for fibromyalgia (FM), but little is known about them in primary care settings. Our study assessed the effectiveness of the FIBROCARE Program in improving the quality of life, functional impact, mood, and pain of people with FM. : We conducted a pragmatic, randomized controlled trial that was not blinded for both patients and the professionals delivering the treatments in the study groups.

This work presents a straightforward, highly sensitive, and cost-effective method for the simultaneous determination of V, Ti, Ni and Ga by high resolution-continuum source electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometer (HR-CS ETAAS) in aqueous environmental samples (tap and seawater samples). The system is based on retention of the analyte onto a novel magnetic nanomaterial (M@GO magnetic graphene oxide) functionalised with methylthiosalicilate (MTS). The formed complexes between the M@GO-MTS and the target analytes were broken, adding 1 mL of nitric acid (6%) and sonication for 5 min.

Root hairs are considered important for rhizosphere formation, which affects root system functioning. Through interactions with soil microorganisms mediated by root exudation, root hairs may affect the phenotypes and growth of young plants. We tested this hypothesis by integrating results from two experiments: (1) a factorial greenhouse seedling experiment with Zea mays B73-wt and its root-hairless mutant, B73-rth3, grown in live and autoclaved soil, quantifying 15 phenotypic traits, seven growth rates, and soil microbiomes and (2) a semi-hydroponic system quantifying root exudation of maize genotypes.

The use of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) in cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry has been increased in recent years due to their good properties as solar radiation filters and antibacterial agent. According to the literature, the potential toxicity of these NPs could be size-dependent and the amount of solubilized metal. This work investigates new reliable and straightforward methodologies that enables the determination of ZnO NPs, discriminating them from ionic zinc in cosmetic samples.

A new magnetic functionalized material based on graphene oxide magnetic nanoparticles named by us, M@GO-TS, was designed and characterized in order to develop a magnetic solid-phase extraction method (MSPE) to enrich inorganic and organic species of lead, mercury, and vanadium. A flow injection (FI) system was used to preconcentrate the metallic and organometallic species simultaneously, while the ultra-trace separation and determination of the selected species were achieved by high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (HPLC-ICP MS). Therefore, preconcentration and separation/determination processes were automated and conducted separately.
