Complementary methods toward the selective functionalization of indole and oxindole frameworks employing an alternative strategy in heteroaryl C-H functionalizations are presented herein. This work focuses on a catalyst-controlled, site selective C-H activation/functionalization of 3-acyl indoles, wherein an amide serves as a robust and versatile directing group capable of undergoing concomitant 1,2-acyl translocation/C-H functionalization in the presence of a Rh/Ag co-catalysts to provide the cross-coupled adducts in high yields. In contrast, the use of Ir/Ag catalysts subverted the 1,2-acyl migration to afford the corresponding C2-functionalized products in good to excellent yields.

Purpose: Human brain development during gestation is complex, as both structure and function are rapidly forming. Structural imaging methods using MRI are well developed to explore these changes, but functional imaging tools are lacking. Low-field MRI is a promising modality to bridge this gap.

Disease networks offer a potential road map of connections between diseases. Several studies have created disease networks where diseases are connected either based on shared genes or Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) associations. However, it is still unclear to which degree SNP-based networks map to empirical, co-observed diseases within a different, general, adult study population spanning over a long time period.

Objectives: Outpatient follow-up visits are often recommended for children with ambulatory care-sensitive conditions (ACSCs) who are discharged from emergency departments or urgent care centers (acute care settings). We sought to assess whether attending a follow-up visit within 7 days is associated with seeking initial office-based care rather than acute care during a subsequent ACSC illness. Understanding this association is crucial to guide recommendations for routine short-term follow-up visits in children who seek acute care for these common conditions.

Virtual wards are an initiative which aims to provide hospital care from the comfort of the patient's own home. Monitoring and additional services, such as intravenous drugs and fluids and blood tests can be undertaken through this system. Although virtual wards have been used in the UK since 2005 in specialties such as General Medicine, General Surgery and Paediatrics, their use in maternity has been more limited.
