This review discusses approaches and implementations of flowrate sensing and measurement in smart inhalers for effective respiratory disease management. It highlights the importance of compliance with proper inhaling techniques and consistent adherence for managing respiratory conditions. Methods and relevant commercial and prototype research-type devices for sensing and measuring inhalation flowrate in smart inhalers are studied and compared.

Article Synopsis
  • - Understanding the S-layer anchoring in bacteria involves non-covalent interactions between S-layer domains and secondary cell wall polymers (SCWPs), with specific roles for ManNAc ligands and the MnaA enzyme in SCWP biosynthesis.
  • - Research focused on producing MnaA and its variants to analyze their kinetic properties, test allosteric activation by UDP-GlcNAc, and explore the effects of tunicamycin as a potential inhibitor using crystal structure analysis and molecular docking.
  • - The study revealed the crystal structure of MnaA and confirmed the conservation of key residues, finding that UDP-GlcNAc boosts reaction rates but isn't essential for its function, while tunicamycin doesn't

This article investigates the potential for using low-cost depth cameras to estimate the maturity of green table grapes after they have been harvested. Time-of-flight (Kinect Azure) and LiDAR (Intel L515) depth cameras were used to capture depth scans of green table grape berries over time. The depth scans of the grapes are distorted due to the diffused scattering of the light emitted from the cameras within the berries.

School nurses play a major role in school readiness and emergency management, collaborating in safety assessment of schools and leading efforts to ensure the overall wellness of each child. Sudden cardiac arrest is a growing concern among students, and schools are a place of gathering, not only of our students and educators but also for the community, as family and friends support children in performances, sporting events, and religious or cultural activities. Implementing a school Cardiac Emergency Response Plan (CERP) provides a lifesaving resource for the entire community.
