Fetal surgery is regarded as a technically difficult and new field of research, requiring the use of fetoscopic and ultrasound (US) navigation to perform minimally invasive procedures within the amniotic cavity. The Surgical Apprenticeship Training model (SAT) centres around the subjective assessment of a surgical resident's cognitive competency and technical skills under proctorship using opportunity-based environments. The restrictiveness and rarity of fetal procedures limit the effectiveness of the SAT model, resulting in a slow learning curve (LC) and higher procedural complication rates.

This system-wide review was initiated by the then Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, following patient-led campaigns. It looked at how the "healthcare system reacted as a whole, and how that response can be made more robust, speedy and appropriate".

Intravenous immunoglobulins may prevent hemolysis and could therefore be a noninvasive alternative for early transfusions.
Objective: We evaluated whether maternal treatment with intravenous immunoglobulins defers the development of severe fetal anemia and its consequences in a retrospective cohort to which 12 fetal therapy centers contributed.
Background: Congenital airway obstruction is rare but potentially fatal. We developed a complex airways interventional delivery team to manage such cases. Antenatal imaging detects airway compromise at an early stage and facilitates the planning of delivery procedures ('ex utero intrapartum treatment' and 'operation on placental support') which maintain feto-placental circulation whilst an airway is secured.
