Neuropeptide (abbreviated as ) is a recently discovered peptide that is present in many arthropods and is the ligand of the , a member of the G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) superfamily, which plays a regulatory role in diverse physiological processes such as feeding, circadian rhythm, insulin production, lipid metabolism, growth, and reproduction. However, the function of this gene in aphids is still unknown. Here, we characterized and determined the potential role of / signaling in the pea aphid, , which is a notorious pest in agriculture.

Conformational landscape of soluble α-klotho revealed by cryogenic electron microscopy.

α-Klotho (KLA) is a type-1 membranous protein that can associate with fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) to form co-receptor for FGF23. The ectodomain of unassociated KLA is shed as soluble KLA (sKLA) to exert FGFR/FGF23-independent pleiotropic functions. The previously determined X-ray crystal structure of the extracellular region of sKLA in complex with FGF23 and FGFR1c suggests that sKLA functions solely as an on-demand coreceptor for FGF23.

The purpose of this study was to compare how well duloxetine, pregabalin, and milnacipran worked for fibromyalgia patients in terms of pain management, quality of life, and sleep quality. The interaction of drugs with DNA is crucial for understanding their mechanism of action, particularly in the context of gene expression regulation. Erdafitinib (EDB), a pan-FGFR (fibroblast growth factor receptor) inhibitor approved by the FDA, is a potent anticancer agent used primarily in the treatment of urothelial carcinoma. In this study, the binding interaction between EDB and calf thymus DNA (ctDNA) was assessed using molecular docking, UV-absorption spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, and circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy.

Primary pleural schwannoma: a rare case report.

Schwannomas are peripheral nerve sheath tumors that rarely arise from autonomic nerves of the pleural lining. Most often, they present as slow-growing tumors and are asymptomatic. Herein, we describe the case of an elderly male patient who presented with severe chest pain.
