Porcine breeding industries typically ensure the viability of boar artificial insemination doses during a 5-day liquid storage period at 17 °C. This study aimed to investigate whether the addition of L-carnitine (LC) to boar semen doses on different days of cooled storage could extend their usability. In experiment 1, LC was added to porcine semen doses on the fifth day (d5) of cooled storage performing five treatments control (no LC), 0.

Cryopreservation of equine semen is crucial to semen commercialization. However, it reduces sperm motility and longevity. Thus, sperm selection methods and addition of motility-activating substances to sperm, such as caffeine, may improve sperm quality of equine frozen semen.

The objective of this study was to enhance the in vitro sperm quality and in vivo fertility of frozen-thawed equine semen by the addition of l-carnitine (LC) to post-thawed semen. Different concentrations of LC were added to thawed samples to obtain four treatments control and 0.5, 1 and 2 mM LC.

This paper presents high quality (2048 × 1532 pixels) Light Microscope steel images sampled from the welding fusion zone. The microstructure images were acquired from the Design of Experiments (2 full factorial design) planned to compare two different arc welding processes at two different arc welding energies [1]. The 400 raw images appear as they were captured by the microscope and they are categorized into four groups: that acquired from the Flux Cored Arc Welding process and that acquired from the Shielded Metal Arc Welding process; both of them run for high and low levels of arc energy.
