View Article and Find Full Text PDFEosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA) is a rare systemic necrotizing vasculitis marked by eosinophilia and extravascular granulomas, predominantly affecting the respiratory tract. This report details a unique EGPA case in a 6-year-old girl with extensive cardiac involvement, featuring an atypical intracardiac mass suggestive of endomyocardial fibrosis and a concomitant thrombus. The clinical course unfolded in three phases: an initial prodrome with asthma; subsequent peripheral hypereosinophilia; and ultimately systemic vasculitis.

One decade ago, the authors put forward a comprehensive analysis of cancer infrastructure, together with a series of suggestions on research orientated political policy.
Objectives: Provide an update and comment on policy, infrastructure, gender equality, stakeholder participation and new challenges in national oncology.

Introduction: Rapid diagnostic units (RDUs) represent an alternative to conventional hospitalization diagnosis, enabling outpatient care for patients with suspected potentially severe disease. The first year of operation of a Rapid Diagnostic and Short Stay Unit (RDSSU) is described.
Materials And Methods: Retrospective study involving 696 patients, documenting 739 events defined as each patient's entry into the RDU for specific reasons.
The incidence of Kawasaki Disease has a peak in the winter months with a trough in late summer/early fall. Environmental/exposure factors have been associated with a time-varying incidence. These factors were altered during the COVID-19 pandemic.
