Introduction: Nerve injuries and resultant pain are common causes of emergency department (ED) visits in the United States. Injuries often occur either due to activity (ie sports related injury) or due to consumer products such as stairs or bedframes. We investigated the incidence of consumer product-related nerve injuries (CPNIs) in patients who presented to the ED in the United States.

Background: This study aims to identify causal mediators of one-year kidney transplant failure in patients with peripheral vascular disease.

Methods: Standard Transplant Analysis and Research database was queried for adults who underwent kidney transplantation from 1987 to 2021. Multi-organ transplant, prior transplant, and living donor kidneys were excluded.

Blanding's turtles (Emydoidea blandingii) are a species of conservation concern throughout their natural range. Headstarting is a common chelonian conservation technique in which neonates are reared in managed-care settings before release, but health assessments are rarely incorporated. From 2020 to 2021 we assessed headstarted turtle health pre-release and 1 mo, 1 yr, and 2 yr after release using physical examination, hematology, plasma biochemistry, protein electrophoresis, and pathogen detection in three Illinois counties.
