hPL promotes osteogenic differentiation of stem cells in 3D scaffolds.

Human platelet lysate (hPL) has been considered as the preferred supplement for the xeno-free stem cell culture for many years. However, the biological effect of hPL on the proliferation and differentiation of dental stem cells combined with the use of medical grade synthetic biomaterial is still under investigation. Thus, the optimal scaffold composition, cell type and specific growth conditions, yet need to be formulated.

Motivations for Volunteering and Its Associations with Time Perspectives and Life Satisfaction: A Latent Profile Approach.

This study aims to examine motivation for volunteering and its association with time perspective and life satisfaction among volunteers ( N = 221). Latent profile analysis was used to profile individuals based on their time perspectives and then to compare group differences in life satisfaction and volunteering motivation. Three profiles were identified.

The title compound, C12H10N2O2, has a twisted conformation, with a dihedral angle between the planes of the pyridine and benzene rings of 78.4 (2)°. The nitro group is coplanar with the attached benzene ring within experimental error.

The title compound, C(5)H(8)Cl(2)O(2), represents a meso isomer crystallizing in a chiral space group with two mol-ecules per asymmetric unit. The mol-ecules form helical associates with a pitch of 6.31 Å along the a axis via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Synthesis and characterization of polycarbonates by melt phase interchange reactions of alkylene and arylene diacetates with alkylene and arylene diphenyl dicarbonates.

This work presents a new synthetic approach to aromatic and aliphatic polycarbonates by melt polycondensation of bisphenol A diacetates with alkylene- and arylenediphenyl dicarbonates. The diphenyl dicarbonates were prepared from phenyl chloroformate and the corresponding dihydroxy compounds. The process involved a precondensation step under a slow stream of dry argon with the elimination of phenyl acetate, followed by melt polycondensation at high temperature and under vacuum.
