Background: Integrated pest management (IPM) in European glasshouses has substantially advanced in automated insect pest detection systems lately. However, transforming such an enormous data influx into optimal biological control strategies remains challenging. In addition, most biological control forecast studies relied on the single-best model approach, which is susceptible to overconfidence, and they lack validation over sufficient sampling repetitions where robustness remains questionable.

[Mucosal disorders of the tongue].

Mucosal diseases of the tongue, such as lingua geographica and lingua villosa, are relatively common and are usually harmless, but can also be more serious, such as oral cavity carcinoma of the tongue. In this article we discuss the diagnosis and treatment of the most common mucosal diseases of the tongue. The influence of underlying systemic conditions, certain medications and preventive advice are also discussed.

Perceptions of research integrity and open science practices: a survey of Brazilian dental researchers.

The objective of this study was to evaluate Brazilian dental researchers' perceptions of research integrity and open science practices, as well as their perceptions of the way researchers are evaluated for promotion, hiring, and receiving grants. In a self-administered online survey, the respondents were presented with 3 questions on researcher evaluation in Brazil. Additionally, for 25 academic activities or characteristics, researchers rated their perceived importance for a) career advancement, b) science advancement, c) personal satisfaction, and d) social impact.

Do randomised clinical trials on dental caries adopt Open Science practices?

Background: Open Science Practices (OSPs) are essential when assessing research integrity and quality of Randomised Clinical Trials (RCTs). As dental caries represents a significant oral health burden, our objective was to identify and analyse the adoption of OSPs within RCTs focused on addressing this disease.

Methods: We searched PubMed to retrieve RCTs related to dental caries published from January 2000 to March 2022.
