We report on the synthesis of MgMnCoNiCuTeO, which is isostructural with multiferroic MnTeO (space group ). Study of its magnetic properties indicates establishment of the long-range antiferromagnetic order at 16.3 K, slightly lower than that of pure MnTeO.

The homogeneous high-entropy wolframite-type solid solution (MnCoNiCuCd)WO was prepared by solid-state reaction at 1000 °C. Elongated "crystals" were grown from the NaWO flux, but their strongly broadened powder X-ray diffraction patterns indicated partial dissolution. Nevertheless, successive annealing of the homogeneous solid solution for 3-4 h at 800, 700, and 600 °C did not bring any sign of dissolution.

The concept of high-entropy oxides has triggered extensive research of this novel class of materials because their numerous functional properties are usually not mere linear combinations of those of the components. Here, we introduce the new series of compositionally complex honeycomb-layered magnets NaLiTSbO (T = CuNiCo). An unusual feature of the system is its nonmonotonous dependences of the monoclinic lattice parameters and β on .

The static and dynamic magnetic properties and the specific heat of KNiTeO and LiNiTeO were examined and it was found that they undergo a long-range ordering at = 22.8 and 24.4 K, respectively, but exhibit a strong short-range order.

GdFeTeO and GdGaTeO have been prepared and their structures refined by the Rietveld method. Both are superstructures of the rosiaite type (space group P3¯1c). Their thermodynamic properties have been investigated by means of magnetization and specific heat measurements, evidencing the formation of the long-range antiferromagnetic order at = 2.
