Actions to Improve the Secondary Prevention of Fragility Fractures in Women with Postmenopausal Osteoporosis: A Social Return on Investment (SROI) Study.

Purpose: This study evaluates the Social Return on Investment (SROI) of implementing measures to prevent fragility fractures in postmenopausal women with osteoporosis (OP) in Spain.

Methods: A group of 13 stakeholders identified necessary actions for improving refracture prevention and assessed the investment required from the Spanish National Health System (SNHS), considering direct, indirect, and intangible costs over a one-year period. Unitary costs were sourced from scientific literature and official data, and intangible costs were estimated through surveys on women's willingness to pay for better health-related quality of life.

Reproductive functions and fertility preservation in transgender men: A French case series.

Background: Transgender men face reproductive challenges due to the potential impact on fertility of gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) and surgical interventions. Testosterone therapy during "female to male" transition leads to anovulation and amenorrhea. Although these effects are typically reversible upon stopping treatment, the long-term effects of androgens on future fertility and health of potential children remain poorly known.

Medically assisted reproduction (MAR) with sperm donation: Comparison of the profiles and medical pathways of unmarried women and women in heterosexual couples.

Research Question: The legislation allowing unmarried women to undergo medically assisted reproduction (MAR) with sperm donation was adopted in France on August 2, 2021. This major advancement, and its impact on French society, led us to a closer examination of the requests made by unmarried women and the outcomes of ART attempts.

Design: A retrospective single center cohort study was conducted in a fertility center in Paris, France.

Use of Knotless Barbed Sutures in Laparoscopic Inguinal Hernioplasty in Horses: 40 Cases.

Inguinal hernias (IHs) and ruptures are a relatively common condition in horses, occurring in foals (congenital) and adult (acquired) animals. A retrospective observational analysis was conducted on 40 cases that underwent laparoscopic surgery to close the VRs using barbed sutures alone or combined with other techniques. Signalment, clinical presentation, surgery, and follow-up data were obtained.
