Although survival rates for MM have improved over the last decade, due to an increase in treatment options, the disease remains incurable.

Objective: In this retrospective cohort study, we compared neonatal and maternal outcomes after exposure of different psychopharmacological classes of drugs. Both psychiatric diseases and pharmacological treatment of these are associated with lower birth weights, lower APGAR scores, and NICU admission. Therefore, we tried to rule out the role of psychotropics as if no differences were found between pharmacological classes, the lower birthweights might not be attributable to these.

Purpose: It is unclear whether the Geriatric-8 (G8) has the accuracy to preselect patients for complete geriatric assessment, and has the ability to predict adverse outcomes in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC). We therefore aimed to determine whether the G8, or other variables present in the medical record, are applicable in predicting 30-day adverse outcomes in older patients undergoing surgery for CRC.

Methods: We performed a retrospective cohort study involving patients ≥70 years who had surgery for CRC between 2018 and 2020 in a general hospital in the Netherlands.

Background: Reports show a high complication rate when starting with the Direct Anterior Approach (DAA) in a supine position for hip arthroplasty. The DAA with the patient in lateral decubitus position may avoid this problem because it supposedly provides better visibility, especially on the femoral side. However, this approach did show a rather high complication rate during the adoption of the approach at 1 year follow up in our previous report.
