Prospective multicentre study of experience in real-world clinical practice in monitoring reported outcome measures (PROMs) of patient with a diagnosis of psoriatic and/or spondyloarthritis and initiating treatment with secukinumab.

Objective: To analyse the effect of secukinumab on self-reported variables of patients diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis and/or ankylosing spondylitis in relation to their health status, pain, fatigue, sleep and quality of life.

Methods: A six-month, observational, longitudinal, prospective, multicentre study was conducted with 39 patients who initiated treatment with secukinumab as therapy for psoriatic arthritis and/or spondylitis. The main variables were changes in patient-reported measures and they were evaluated by means of the questionnaires: FACIT-fatigue, Insomnia Severity Index, EuroQol-3L-5D and PsAQoL.

Information transmission in young children: when social information is more important than nonsocial information.

The authors' aim was to use a highly novel open diffusion paradigm to investigate the transmission of social information (i.e., gossip) and general knowledge within 2 groups of 10- and 11-year-old children.

Validation of ELISA for the detection of African horse sickness virus antigens and antibodies.

The mortality rate in susceptible populations of horses during an epizootic of African horse sickness (AHS) may be in excess of 90%. Rapid and reliable assays are therefore essential for the confirmation of clinical diagnoses and to enable control strategies to be implemented without undue delay. One of the major objectives of a recent European Union funded project was the validation of newly developed diagnostic assays which are rapid, sensitive, highly reproducible and inexpensive, for the detection of African horse sickness virus (AHSV) antigens and antibodies.

Antibodies in horses, mules and donkeys following monovalent vaccination against African horse sickness.

A total of 256 sera collected from three species of domesticated equidae in four different Spanish provinces were examined 1-4 months after the administration of attenuated monovalent African horse sickness virus (AHSV) serotype 4 vaccine. Approximately 10% of the sera were negative by ELISA, virus neutralization, agar gel immuno-diffusion and complement fixation tests. Similar negative reactions were recorded with sera from two ponies after experimental primary vaccination.
