In Mexico, hepatitis B and C infections are a significant burden on the health system. The aim of this narrative review was to analyze the state of the art on hepatitis B and C in Mexico by searching and studying available data in academic articles and government reports and statements on epidemiology, prevention, treatment, and elimination strategies undertaken by the Mexican government. Even where the government has implemented a hepatitis B vaccination strategy to reduce its incidence, a very low proportion of people complete the vaccination schedule.

Hydrogels consist of crosslinked hydrophilic polymers from which their mechanical properties can be modulated for a wide variety of applications. In the last decade, many catechol-based bioinspired adhesives have been developed following the strategy of incorporating catechol moieties into polymeric backbones. In this work, in order to further investigate the adhesive properties of hydrogels and their potential advantages, several hydrogels based on poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate--acrylamide) with '-methylene-bisacrylamide (MBA), without/with L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (DOPA) as a catecholic crosslinker, were prepared via free radical copolymerization.

Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) is related to an abrupt drop in progesterone and impairments in the HPA axis that cause anxiety. Suffering persons report higher daily-life stress and anxiety proneness that may contribute to developing PMDD, considered a chronic stress-related disorder. Here, we explored the effect of chronic unpredictable stress (CUS) in rats subjected to progesterone withdrawal (PW) and evaluated gene expression of HPA axis activation in the stress-vulnerable Wistar-Kyoto (WKY) rat strain that is prone to anxiety.

genes have been associated with carcinogenesis. However, the molecular mechanism by which tumors are generated remains unclear. The and genes are of interest for their involvement in the development of genitourinary structures.

This paper presents a device used to measure and register temperature for long-term subsoil measurements in boreholes. The borehole of this study is located in Gijón (Asturias, Spain). The measurements were made through two fixed sets of sensors coupled to the geothermal pipe, constituting two independent installations: (a) a commercial device called "Hobo", which uses TMCx-HD-specific sensors based on resistors with variable resistance; and (b) a device built by this research group, which uses DS12B20 Maxim sensors, a bus 1-wire, and a recording device based on a conventional Arduino board.
