In patients with mild to moderate psoriasis, topical corticosteroids are usually the first-line of treatment; however, they are not suitable for long-term use. The purpose of this study was to assess the efficacy and safety of a multi-fruit-and-vegetable compound, Psori Silk, in the treatment of patients with psoriasis. This was a randomized double-blind trial comprising 12 weeks of treatment with Psori Silk versus a vehicle, and a 4-week follow-up.

The role of the altered microbiota in such patients is of great interest. The aim of this pilot study was to determine whether the development of postoperative complications in patients with aortic aneurysm is related with initial or acquired disorders of microbiota metabolism by monitoring the level of some aromatic microbial metabolites (AMMs) circulating in the blood before the surgery and in the early postoperative period.

We present results of originally modified chordal-sparing mitral valve replacement (MVR) successfully used in patients with mitral stenosis and mitral insufficiency.
Methods: The modified surgical method involves preserving only four strut chords with portions of the mitral valve leaflets, which are later fixed to the fibrous ring.
Cancer persists as a global challenge due to the extent to which conventional anticancer therapies pose high risks counterbalanced with their therapeutic benefit. Naturally occurring substances stand as an important safer alternative source for anticancer drug development. In the current study, a series of modified lupane and ursane derivatives was subjected to in vitro screening on the NCI-60 cancer cell line panel.
