Microalgae have been widely recognized as a promising feedstock for sustainable biofuels production to tackle global warming and pollution issues related to fossil fuels uses. This study identified and analyzed indigenous microalgae strains for biodiesel production, specifically Chlorella vulgaris and Coelastrella thermophila var. globulina, from two distinct locations in Algeria.

Microalgae have been recently recognized as a promising alternative for the effective treatment of anaerobic digestion effluents. However, to date, a widely applied microalgae-based process is still absent, due to several constraints mainly attributed to high ammonia concentrations and turbidity, both hindering microalgal growth. Within this scope, the purpose of the present study was to investigate the performance of two strains, SAG 211-11b and a local Algerian isolate, under different nitrogen levels, upon ammonia stripping.

In recent decades, despite significant advances in medicine and perinatal care, asphyxia remains a serious condition, leading to significant mortality and morbidity. The incidence of severe perinatal asphyxia varies from 1 to 3 per 1000 live births, in developed countries 5-10 per 1000 or more in developing countries, and is the third most common cause of neonatal death (23%) after preterm birth (28%) and severe infection (26%). Neonatal asphyxia is often accompanied by multiple organ failure, mainly involving the kidneys, brain, and heart.

A magnetic skyrmion is a topologically stable state with potential applications for realizing the next-generation spintronic devices. Here, we demonstrate the real-space observation of skyrmions in Dion-Jacobson phase perovskite, CaNaNbO (CNNO), nanosheets by using optical injection. The CNNO and CNNO nanosheets exhibit weak ferromagnetics, while the CNNO nanosheet is superparamagnetic.

In the era of the diseasomes and interactome networks, linking genetics with phenotypic traits in Turner syndrome should be studied thoroughly. As a part of this stratagem, mosaicism of both X and Y chromosome which is a common finding in TS and an evaluation of congenital heart diseases in the different situations of mosaic TS types, can be helpful in the identification of disturbed sex chromosomes, genes and signaling pathway actors. Here we report the case of a mosaic TS associated to four left-sided CHD, including BAV, COA, aortic aneurysms and dissections at an early age.
