Seroprevalence of transfusion-transmitted infections among blood donors in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

Introduction: Blood donation is vital for healthcare; however, transfusion-transmitted infections (TTIs) pose a serious risk. This study investigated the seroprevalence of TTIs among Saudi blood donors.

Methodology: This retrospective study included male blood donors aged ≥ 18 years who donated blood at Al-Noor Specialist Hospital in Makkah from January 2017 to December 2022.

Comparison of Oral Health-Related Quality of Life scores in children treated for early childhood caries under general and local anesthesia: a quasi-experimental study.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the changes in oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) scores in children treated for Early Childhood Caries (ECC) under general (GA) and local anesthesia (LA).

Methods: A quasi-experimental study was carried out on 73 children, with 37 in the GA group and 36 in the LA group. The early childhood oral health impact scale (ECOHIS) was used to measure OHRQoL, with the type of anesthesia (LA or GA) serving as the explanatory variable.

Exploring associations between oral health measures and oral health-impacted daily performances in 12-14-year-old schoolchildren.

Background: Oral health-related quality of life, a prominent topic in dentistry, has been studied extensively. However, the comparison between various self-perceived and clinical oral health measures still needs to be explored. The purpose of the current study is; first, to report the self-perceived and clinically examined oral health measures that are associated with the oral impacts on daily performances.

Sail excision technique for overhanging thick ala in Saudi Arabia.

To demonstrate the correction of overhanging alar with the vestibular triangular excision technique using preoperative and postoperative photographs.   Methods: This descriptive retrospective study was conducted at King Abdulaziz University Hospital, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Fifty patients who underwent open rhinoplasty with the vestibular triangular excision technique were retrospectively assessed.
