Thermoexpandable Memokath stent: Usage and efficacy in ureteral and urethral strictures in Saudi Arabia.

Objectives: Double J (DJ) stent is widely used in cases of ureteric strictures as a temporary solution; however, it has certain limitations, such as the need for frequent exchange. Alternatively, a long-lasting thermoexpandable stent (Memokath™ 051) has been used to relieve ureteral obstructions in comorbid patients with multiple reported advantages, such as longer durability which avoids the need of frequent exchanges. In addition, it can be used in certain cases of urethral strictures.

Chylous Ascites Following Laparoscopic Donor Nephrectomy: A Case Report.

Chylous ascites is a form of peritoneal fluid accumulation that can arise from trauma or lymphatic obstruction. In this report, we present the first case of chylous ascites following laparoscopic donor nephrectomy in our high-volume kidney transplant center. The patient presented to the emergency department three weeks post-procedure with complaints of abdominal distention and discomfort, accompanied by constipation and nausea.

Penoscrotal entrapment: a safe, innovative technique for removing metal constricting devices.

Penoscrotal entrapment is a rare urological emergency that requires urgent treatment to avoid penile ischaemia and subsequent erectile dysfunction. Non-metallic and thin metallic objects are easily removed via cutting, while thick metallic constricting devices require specialist saws or motorised cutters, all of which may be difficult to locate in the emergency setting. We report a case of a 45-year-old patient who presented with a 48-h history of gross penoscrotal oedema secondary to entrapment by a thick metal ring (internal diameter 55 mm, external diameter 74 mm and thickness 19 mm).

Port-site metastasis after laparoscopic surgery for urological malignancy: forgotten or missed.

Purpose. Port-site metastasis has been a concern with the common use of laparoscopy in urologic oncology. We conducted this study to provide a review of port-site metastases reported after the laparoscopy in managing urologic malignancies, possible contributing factors and preventative measures.
