End-stage renal disease (ESRD) and human lysozyme (HL) amyloidosis are often interconnected, typically marked by elevated levels of uremic toxins in patients' blood. In this context, hippuric acid (HA), a uremic toxin derived from the metabolism of aromatic compounds, was investigated in vitro for its impact on HL fibrillation using spectroscopic, calorimetric, and computational methods. The results indicate that HA enhances HL fibrillation in a concentration-dependent manner, evidenced by increased ThT fluorescence and the detection of amyloid fibrils with a hydrodynamic radius of approximately 840.

The research is motivated by Egypt's abundant renewable resources, strategic location, and increasing interest in hydrogen as a cornerstone of the energy transition. Using the Hydra simulation model developed in MATLAB/Simulink, the study evaluates the Levelized Cost of Hydrogen (LCOH) and Levelized Supply Costs of Hydrogen (LSCOH) across various scenarios, spanning from 2024 to 2050.

Sildenafil (SIL) has gained attention in protective medicine due to its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-apoptotic properties.
Aim: This study aimed to investigate SIL's protective mechanisms against radiation-induced liver damage.
The aim of this study is to assess the impacts of chitosan (CH) coating with oregano essential oil (OEO) and thyme essential oil (TEO) (0.5%-1.0%; ) on the foodborne pathogens and physicochemical parameters of beef burger during refrigerated storage.
