Whether younger donors should be prioritized over HLA-matching for allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (allo-HCT) when using post-transplant cyclophosphamide (PTCy)-based graft versus host disease (GvHD) prophylaxis is unclear. To address this, we compared outcomes of allo-HCT recipients aged ≥50-years using PTCy-based GvHD prophylaxis from an older (≥50-years) matched sibling donor (MSD) to those of younger alternative donors ≤35-years: HLA-matched unrelated donors (MUD), HLA-mismatched unrelated donors (MMUD), and haploidentical (haplo)-related donors reported to the Center for International Blood & Marrow Transplant Research between 2014-2021. Young MUD and older MSD receiving calcineurin inhibitor (CNI)-based allo-HCT that met study criteria were concurrently examined.

Interest is increasing in using novel diabetic medications, such as glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists, to manage coronary artery disease. Dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors enhance GLP-1 activity through the same pathway as GLP-1 agonists; however, DPP-4 inhibitors have not been fully evaluated in the setting of ischemic heart disease. We chose to study the DPP-4 inhibitor linagliptin (LIN) in a porcine model of chronic coronary ischemia.

Selectable polarity in van der Waals materials not only broadens the scope of design for electronic components but also opens new avenues for the development of advanced electronic, optoelectronic, and sensor devices. In this study, we fabricated vertically stacked InSe/MoS van der Waals type-II heterojunction photodetectors and conducted a systematic investigation of their photoelectrical properties. Our findings demonstrate the high performance of these photodetectors, characterized by effective suppression of charge recombination, the presence of both positive and negative photoconductivity under different incident light excitations, broad-spectrum detection ranging from 400 to 1064 nm, and remarkable responsivity and photodetectivity values of 10,200 A/W (-1430 A/W) and 3 × 10 cm Hz W (3.

Objective: The purpose of the study is to provide current data on the composition and prevalence of rural general surgery residency programs and describe new mechanisms and resources facilitating the creation of such programs.

Design: Training site and program data for general surgery residencies for the academic year 2022 to 2023 from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) were geocoded and analyzed. A literature search and iterative consensus process with graduate medical education (GME) experts was used to synthesize and describe new mechanisms and resources to grow rural general surgery training.
