Future automated vehicles (AVs) are anticipated to feature innovative exteriors, such as textual identity indications, external radars, and external human-machine interfaces (eHMIs), as evidenced by current and forthcoming on-road testing prototypes. However, given the vulnerability of pedestrians in road traffic, it remains unclear how these novel AV appearances will impact pedestrians' crossing behaviour, especially in relation to their multimodal performance, including subjective perceptions, gaze patterns, and road-crossing decisions. To address this gap, this study pioneers an investigation into the influence of AVs' exterior design, in conjunction with their kinematics, on pedestrians' road-crossing perception and decision-making.

Background: Several studies have reported that combination antiretroviral therapy (cART) enhances the hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) clearance rate in Human Immunodeficiency Virus-1/Hepatitis B Virus (HIV/HBV) coinfected patients, yet the associated immunological characteristics remain unclear.

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) enacted in March 2020 prohibited states from redetermining Medicaid eligibility until March 31st, 2023. However, there has been little direct evidence on how the FFCRA affected coverage continuity, health care access and utilization among Medicaid beneficiaries. In this cross-sectional study, we employ data from the 2015 to 2022 National Health Interview Survey and a difference-in-differences design to study the FFCRA effects by comparing changes in outcomes between Medicaid and privately insured individuals over time.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the neural mechanism by which virtual chatbots' gender might influence users' usage intention and gender differences in human-machine communication.

Approach: Event-related potentials (ERPs) and subjective questionnaire methods were used to explore the usage intention of virtual chatbots, and statistical analysis was conducted through repeated measures ANOVA.

Results/findings: The findings of ERPs revealed that female virtual chatbots, compared to male virtual chatbots, evoked a larger amplitude of P100 and P200, implying a greater allocation of attentional resources toward female virtual chatbots.

Engineering of conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs) with high porosity, redox activity, and electronic conductivity is of significant importance for their practical applications in electrochemical energy storage. Aminated-multiwall carbon nanotubes (NH -MWNT) are utilized to modulate the porosity and electronic conductivity of polytriphenylamine (PTPA), which is synthesized via Buchwald-Hartwig coupling reaction of tri(4-bromophenyl)amine and phenylenediamine as constitutional units in a one-step in situ polymerization process. A long-term high-fat diet causes hepatic steatosis, which further leads to oxidative stress and inflammation. In this study, we firstly investigated the regulation effects of different amounts of quinoa on hepatic steatosis, oxidative stress, and inflammation of rats fed a high-fat diet, then the gut microbiota was dynamically determined. Sprague-Dawley (SD, male) rats were randomized into four groups: normal controls (NC, fed standard chow), model groups (HF, fed a high-fat diet), low quinoa intake (HF + LQ), and high quinoa intake (HF + HQ) groups, which were supplemented with 9% and 27% quinoa in the high-fat feed (equivalent to 100 g/day and 300 g/day human intake, respectively).
